I am so happy to be able to share news about my new venture, The Photo Academy. During 2015, I was contacted by a number of customers and also some local schools to see if I offered photography training. I had carried out a few training sessions over the years but didn’t really devote much time to it. Initially, I was establishing my photography business and my focus lay with that.
However, last year I decided to diversify and challenge myself to grow the business further.
After a lot of preparation (and a few nerves!), I ventured into the role of photography trainer & mentor and I have never looked back. To say that I love it would be an understatement. It’s so refreshing to share knowledge with students who are eager and willing to learn. Not only has it been a fulfilling experience but I can honestly say it has made me think more about how I run my own business and getting work/life balance right.
Two groups of students enrolled in my 6-week Beginners Photography Classes in January 2016. These classes were held in the Cornmill Centre, Coalisland and both groups ‘graduated’ recently. I loved hearing the feedback I received from students – it’s great to hear that they loved the classes and are eager to enrol in new classes that I will launch throughout the year.
